Professional work in national nature conservation and environmental issues today is unthinkable without
a cross-border exchange of information.
For many years the MV Foundation for the Environment and Nature Conservation has been engaged in specialist cross-border nature conservation, working together with the states of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Brandenburg, as well as Poland (in particular the province of West Pomerania.
During this collaboration there has been recognition time and again for a communication aid to overcome the language barriers during technical discussions about nature conservation subjects.
Against this background, together with many partners involved in nature conservation, we have developed a technical glossary of common terminology in the areas of habitat and species protection, management planning, environmental legislation, landscape planning and more. This should simplify the communication, reporting and documentation as part of German-Polish nature protection cooperation - especially for volunteers.
The addition of an English translation of the technical terms in the glossary expands the potential user base significantly.
Our work has been made possible by the support of the North German Foundation for the Environment and Development.
The MV Foundation for the Environment and Nature Conservation and its partners in the project have no commercial interest in this project!
We want the technical glossary to evolve through a process of expansion, improvement and exchange.
To ensure high quality for the update, we will collect amendments and additions via a contact form and maintain it on a regular basis.
